Now that you've gotten a little more knowledge of and “feel” for our Montana Big Sky Country, there are some great responsibilities that go with land ownership here in the Madison Valley. It is important for you to know that life in the country is different from life in the city. You need to be prepared. As you look for a place to make your home, look at the community and its people. County and small town governments are not able to provide the same level of service that large city governments provide, which keeps our taxes relatively low. You should think about what transportation, education, communication, health care, employment, and public services you can live with–or without. One of the best sources of information is a free booklet provided by the county, entitled, “Code of the New West.” It is available at ERA Landmark Arrow Real Estate and Madison County offices.
